New to pickleball in Bangalore? Where to book a court, what an hour costs, the rules that matter on day one, and how to find a group to play with.
You can book a pickleball court in Bangalore by the hour at a multi-sport turf, and you need only a paddle, a ball and one to three friends. On MyGameGrid, Goal Poachers in Kadugodi lists a full pickleball court at ₹600 an hour (as of September 2026), bookable from 5 AM to 10:30 PM.
Where can you book a pickleball court in Bangalore?
On MyGameGrid, pickleball courts sit inside multi-sport venues, next to football turf and box cricket. That is good news for beginners: you book by the hour, with no club membership.
- Goal Poachers, Kodigehalli, Kadugodi (East Bengaluru): one full pickleball court, ₹600 per hour, open 5:00 AM to 10:30 PM. See live slots on the Goal Poachers page.
- Other venues: see all turfs and courts in Bengaluru on MyGameGrid. New venues are added as they list.
Prices and hours change, so check the venue page on the day you book.
What do you need to know before your first game?
Pickleball is played on a court 20 feet wide and 44 feet long, about the size of a badminton court, with a net 36 inches high at the sides and 34 inches in the middle. Each side has a 7-foot non-volley zone next to the net, called the kitchen. Those numbers come from USA Pickleball's rules overview.
The three rules that trip up beginners:
- Serve underhand. Hit the ball below your waist, diagonally into the opposite service box.
- Let it bounce twice. The serve must bounce, and the return must bounce, before anyone volleys.
- Stay out of the kitchen to volley. You can step in to play a ball that has bounced, not to hit it in the air.
Only the serving side scores, and games go to 11, win by 2.
How many players do you need?
Two for singles, four for doubles. Doubles is the easier start: less running, more rallies. An hour is enough for several short games.
If you have a paddle and no partner, that is the harder part. Two ways to fix it:
- Join a game on MyGameGrid's Play page when someone posts a pickleball session.
- Host your own. Book the court, then create a game with the number of spots you need. Players join, and you see who is coming before you pay for the slot.
What should you bring?
A paddle and balls, unless the venue rents them (ask when you book). Wear court or running shoes with flat soles. Football boots and studs damage the surface and slip on it. Carry water; an hour of doubles is more running than it looks.
Frequently asked questions
Q: How much does it cost to play pickleball in Bangalore?
A: At Goal Poachers on MyGameGrid, a full court is ₹600 per hour as of September 2026. Split between four players for doubles, that is ₹150 each. Other venues set their own prices; check the venue page before booking.
Q: Is pickleball hard to learn?
A: It is one of the easier racket sports to pick up. The underhand serve and the two-bounce rule keep early games slow enough to learn, and the smaller court means less ground to cover than tennis.
Q: Can I play pickleball on a badminton court?
A: USA Pickleball describes the court as badminton-sized with a slightly lower net, so a badminton court works if the net can be lowered to pickleball height (36 inches at the sides, 34 in the middle).
Q: Where can I find people to play pickleball with in Bangalore?
A: Check open games on the Play page, or host a session at a venue and share the link in your group. A weekly session at the same time is the easiest way to build a regular group.
